eDNA Kolaborasi Indonesia is a collaborative research using environmental DNA with Indonesian researchers as members. This collaborative research was initiated by Dr. Hawis Madduppa as Head of the Laboratory of Marine Biodiversity and Biosystematics (Biodivsi), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and Founder of Oceanogen Environmental Biotechnology Laboklinikum. eDNA Collaboration Indonesia carries out collaboration to facilitate research and publications related to environmental DNA. This project consists of several batches where there are differences in each batch in the form of target organisms to be disclosed. In the first batch, the collaboration consisting of 42 collaborators from 37 institutions throughout Indonesia will reveal the biodiversity of target fish organisms in freshwater and sea water areas in several locations in Indonesia. In the implementation of the first batch of this collaboration, as many as 40 samples were collected from the collaborators’ hometowns in Indonesia. The sampling process took place from September and submission of manuscripts to international journals was targeted for December. . Collaborative research is expected to facilitate research interest in environmental DNA in Indonesia. In addition, the implementation of this collaboration is useful in building networks for researchers.
